What happens when a wedding photographer decides to marry her college sweetheart? An intimate wedding at one of Chicago’s cutest venues, an outpouring of jaw-dropping details, and lots and lots of happy tears! Danielle and Sona and not only complete each other’s sentences but they complete each other, they are two halves of a beautiful whole, a couple that lights up a room and whose tender love is inspiring. This awesome line up of wedding vendors created the most beautiful wedding for two of the most wonderful people I have met, congrats Danielle and Sona! (big thanks to Sonia Roselli, Fleur, Volo Wine Bar, Jayne Weddings, and Mignonette bridal for making their adorable dresses!)

The girls got dressed separately so they could have an official first look (they actually hadn’t seen each other’s finished dresses yet).

They had written letters to each other and took a moment to read them (a very sweet moment!).

Even Sonia Roselli was snapping photos…

We headed over to A New Leaf for some portraits.

Their wedding was at the adorable Volo Wine Bar in Roscoe Village.

Hold on to your hats, these details are seriously amazing!

The ketubah was signed in the wine cellar.

Mazel Tov! (Breaking glass while wearing heels is not so easy!)

Who doesn’t love cotton candy?!

Let them eat cake indeed!

Q&A with the brides:
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Danielle & Sona: Though there were several memorable moments, our favorites times were when we were able to just focus on each other. Our first look, especially, was very special and emotional. And, because we did the first look, we got some quiet time together before the ceremony. Those moments were full of excitement and anticipation, and we’ll never forget them!

What was your favorite detail?
Danielle & Sona: Katie from Jayne Weddings did an AMAZING job making our vision for the look of our day come to life. We couldn’t possibly pick just one thing. We loved it all!

Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Danielle & Sona: During our ceremony, one corner of the chuppah fell and hit us in the face. Those are the kinds of moments that make memories, and we were happy to have something funny to break us from the emotionality of the ceremony. Danielle yelled, “Mazel tov!”

Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Danielle & Sona: Everything you hear is true: the day goes by SO fast. Take as much time as you can to take it all in and remember your day. Also, keep it small. We had 65 of our closest friends and family members there, and that was definitely the best decision we made.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Danielle & Sona: Not a thing! We can’t believe it, but it was PERFECT.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Danielle & Sona: We’re going to Santorini in late July. Can’t wait!
