As a wedding photographer I am lucky enough to be a part of some very romantic moments, but this one might take the cake. Under the guise of a photo tourist, I shared a helicopter ride with Ibrahim and Saba while a certain box containing a certain sparkly object lay hidden in his pocket. He had arranged a lovely helicopter ride to tour the city at sunset as an anniversary gift, and she had no idea that I was actually there to document his proposal. Even the soundtrack had been pre-chosen, with some of Saba’s favorite songs playing as we flew over the twinkling lights of the Hancock building. It was majestic, awesome, and epic to say the least. The pilot and I grinned from ear to ear as Ibrahim popped the question, and the best news of all… she said yes! It’s not everyday that you get to snap photos at 700 plus feet above sea level, watch the sun descend over Chicago, AND witness such a touching moment. Congratulations to you both, thanks so much for letting me tag along!

I arrived a few minutes early to SunAero.
Our ride.

Smile for the camera!

Saba is soaking in the view.

The city on the horizon.

He is texting me to tell me he is about to ask her…

Cue Aerosmith on the radio and ready the ring…

Yes!

Time to come down.
Proposal number 2, on one knee.

Congratulations, what an awesome day!
