Rebekah and Rishi have big hearts. They spend a lot of time “fixing” people (they are both psychologists), but the one thing that doesn’t need fixing is their love for each other. It’s perfect and sweet, just listen to any Ingrid Michaelson song and imagine these two as the main characters. Their wedding was built with all the best ingredients… family, love and laughter. Nothing flashy, no huge bridal party, no stretch limo, just a celebration of two people in love and that’s exactly how it should be. Becky and Rishi are wonderful, so it’s no surprise that their wedding was the perfect balance of heartfelt and shake-it-up fun!

Q&A with the bride and groom:
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Rishi:the candle lighting ceremony. We knew we wanted to honor our respective cultural/religious backgrounds, and this was a conscious effort to do so. The moment, even though it lasted two or there minutes, was rich and genuine. Blessings were read as candles were lit, nodding to both Hindu and Catholic traditions. The song choice was perfect. And knowing it was all to mark the start of the rest of my life with Becky was enough to give anyone goosebumps!
Becky: Walking back with Rishi after taking pictures during the reception. It was a nice way to have a moment to ourselves during the evening and reflect on the experience.
What was your favorite detail?
Rishi: the lights hanging from the ceiling of Cafe Brauer. I’m not sure how many people noticed them, but it made it feel like the stars were shining down on us.
Becky: I loved the candles hanging from the ceiling too! They made Cafe Brauer feel so warm and inviting.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Rishi: My uncle surprising all of us and dancing in drag during the Sangeet. A memorable performance indeed!
Becky: The dance-off between my friend and Rishi’s 8 year old cousin.
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Rishi/Becky: Take a few minutes to truly take in the experience. It’s a hectic, emotional day and it can be easy to get overwhelmed by it all. All of the hiccups seem to work themselves out, so take a few deep breaths and be fully present in the moment with your husband/wife.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Rishi/Becky: We wouldn’t change a thing. We still are in awe that everything came together so perfectly imperfect!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Rishi/Becky: We went on a “mini moon” to Lake Geneva for a few days right after our wedding. We are deciding on where to go for a bigger trip.
