Sometimes your whole life can change over a cup of coffee (or in this case, a latte). Dani tried to mask her intense interest with light conversation about the book Britt was reading (they were reading the same book!), and Britt had no idea that a simple afternoon reading in a coffee shop would change her course forever. Luckily the awkward moments and flushed cheeks led to post-shift drinks and a long walk home. *POOF!* their love story was born. Let’s clink our coffee cups in a toast to baristas and coffee shop romances!
Britt’s recount: “We met in person at Dani’s work at Intelligentsia. She grabbed my book while taking my order to tell me she was reading the same thing. Later she kept dropping the coffee bags because she was so nervous. We went to dryhop after her shift and she walked me to my door.”
Britt and Dani knew they didn’t want a giant wedding, and they definitely didn’t want to be the center of attention in a room full of people. Instead they opted for a darling brunch with their closest friends and family after sealing the deal at City Hall. We all squeezed into the basement office while the judge officiated a very lovely ceremony (probably the most heart felt ceremony I have ever experienced at City Hall), she surprised Dani and Britt with an opportunity to say their own vows. We all laughed and will forever remember that after Dani said some very sweet and sentimental things Britt only came up with, “whelp, you’re my sushi burrito.” Quite possibly the most adorable thing I have ever heard!
We may not have included sushi burritos in our photo adventure around the city, but we did manage to have some lattes in the very spot they first met. You can see for yourself how happy these two are together, plenty of love even on one of the coldest Chicago winter days. (Note my favorite accessories, the flowers- both bouquet and boutonnière- are made from pages of their favorite books).
