Each year I make a point to contribute my time and photography services to one or more charity events in the Chicago area. This year I was asked to photograph the Helios Bash, hosted by the Society for Urban Nature (SUN). The event featured a fantastic silent auction (lots of great gifts and prizes), live entertainment from Toast and Jam DJ’s and Magnolia photo booth, as well as local, sustainable cuisine and cocktails by vendors such as Limelight, HonestTea, and Green Line Pale Ale (Goose Island). This event raised money for nature and science education in Chicago. 225 young professionals and board members from the Nature Museum gathered to wine and dine, bid on fun prizes, and bust a move on the dance floor. They raised over $51,000, rock on!

The gals from “bugapalooza” kept the guests entertained with their curious creatures.

The butterfly conservatory is always a favorite.

Beautiful murals by Hector Duarte for the “Flight of the Majestic Monarch” exhibit.

The guests couldn’t get enough of the Magnolia photobooth and the terrific props, there was a line at the booth all night.

The lovely Amanda of Toast and Jam DJ’s kept the dance floor packed.
