Katy and Paul are living “La Dolce Vita.” They make each other incredibly happy, and they know how to keep it simple… all you need is great food, great wine, and great friends! Add in some well chosen music and you have total perfection. Not only did we get to take some awesome photos around town with just the two of them, but their intimate wedding ceremony followed by a delicious meal couldn’t have been better. It was unanimous among family and friends that this was an amazing night, the perfect way to celebrate what matters most~ two people in love. Congrats Katy and Paul, may you “love as long as you live, and live as long as you love!”
Rather than avoid the hotel’s 1970’s decor, we embraced it. I am so glad Katy and Paul were willing to try this elevator shot (it required several trips up and down), it’s one of my all-time favorites!
I loved their invitation set.
I have always wanted to take photos in front of this store, love the intense glossy red exterior. When Katy sent me a list of possible locations that included this spot I was thrilled! (Be warned, the security guards are not very friendly)
LaSalle street bridge…
This location continues to wow me!
We found this little spot, the yellow leaves looked amazing with Katy’s teal accessories.
Gorgeous!
Curly-haired beauties…
Love!
We headed back to Osteria Via Stato for the ceremony. (The dimly lit interiors and dark woods are so cozy)
Time to let down the hair and party!
Congrats Katy and Paul!

Q&A with the bride:
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Katy: Paul and I privately shedding tears of happiness and joy together following our ceremony
What was your favorite detail?
Katy: Vintage-inspired paper straws in our signature Whiskey Ginger and Prosecco Fizz cocktails, and the moody light emanating from the candles at each table
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Katy: As we were driving to the hotel to get ready for the day’s events I realized the self-tanner I had applied as a “test” 2 weeks prior was still looming in a spotty, unnatural pattern on my chest (and by test, I mean wildly unsuccessful orange self-tanner flop.) After some frantic online research I sent my parents on a wild goose chase for hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to whip up a fake-tanner remover which I applied 30 minutes before the photographer team arrived. “Crisis” averted.
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Katy: Stop, take a deep breath and spend a moment observing the evening. Soak in the sounds, the smells, the scenery, and relish in the moment.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Katy: The weekend was absolutely perfect, we wouldn’t change a thing!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Katy: Our honeymoon is scheduled for August, 2013. We are heading to Seattle for a friend’s wedding, and from there traveling to Portland, San Fran and wine country
