“Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.” This phrase always comes to mind when I think of Kim and Joe. There hearts are full of love, both for each other and their friends and family. Kim works for the Special Olympics and her wonderful kindness and patience came in handy when her wedding day turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year. They both seemed un-phased by the hot sun as they said their vows in front of their nearest and dearest. The Morton Arboretum has been a big part of their lives, Joe came often with his father when he was younger, he and Kim walked around the grounds on their first date, and he also proposed to her by one of the ponds. There was no question that this was where they would get married. It was a wonderful celebration from the first look in the hedge maze to the clever movie ticket place cards. Congrats Kim and Joe!

Kim’s mom helped her with her great-grandmother’s necklace.

First look in the maze…

I loved their movie ticket place cards, you had to match the quote to the movie.

The sisters gave a speech and showed off Kim’s first love- her “blankie.”

Joe’s brother told a few stories that his parents were not yet aware of…

His mom plugged her ears.

Experimental night shot in the maze (thanks to Jamie for running around with the flash).

They even planned ahead for their thank you cards!

Congrats Kim and Joe!

Q&A with the bride and groom:
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Kim-My most memorable moment of the day was getting to see Joe for the first time. I had been waiting what felt like forever and I knew he was very nervous (and really hot) so I just wanted to see him and make sure he was ok.
Joe-My most memorable moment was turning around and seeing Kim in her wedding dress.

What was your favorite detail?
Kim- My flowers and centerpieces were exactly how I pictured them. I also loved the placecard table that my mom(mostly) and I did.
Joe- Seeing the dining room, it was perfectly set up.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Both- The speeches by our sisters and our brother. They were hilarious. Tommy trying not to give too much away was Joe’s favorite part.

Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Kim: It’s worth it to just stay calm and not worry about the details. I usually want the things I plan the way I want them but I just decided it wasn’t worth worrying about because I was still getting to marry Joe and in the end that’s what it was all about. It made my day a lot more relaxed and I really enjoyed everything even when a few things went wrong.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Both: Not a thing. We loved every minute of it.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Both: Hawaii for two weeks. We spent time on Maui and Oahu….It was awesome! Beautiful and perfect weather!
