Elizabeth and Karl met on the stage, and one might say they have a “theatrical” kind of love… not because they are acting out the part (most certainly not!) but because they are quite explosive together. It’s all passion and love, long looks and tender words as if they are the only two people left in the world. There must have been a trace of this when they first met, cast as husband and wife in a play (talk about a great way to get to know someone!). Fast forward to more performances as husband and wife and months/years later when they finally made a bold move and decided to give everyone something to talk about. Hooray! With two people so full of life, both with amazing talents in singing and dancing, and a room full of friends with equal talent, this wedding was a guaranteed success. All felt a tear in their eye and a tingle down their spine as Liz and Karl’s friends sang during the ceremony, it was truly majestic. And then top it off with the Flat Cats and plenty of swing dancing and shazam! Total awesomeness.
We took a windy walk around the neighborhood while Liz and the girls got ready, Karl was all smiles!
Many of their friends are incredible singers, several of them comprised the choir that day. The church was filled with amazing music! (Everyone kept turning around in their seats, I had chills!)

Q&A with the bride/groom:
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Karl: The first moment I saw Liz, walking down the aisle.
Liz: The final chord of our processional hymn. I walked down the aisle to the entire congregation singing my favorite hymn. At the end when I was standing next to Karl my friend Erin, who was singing for the ceremony, sang the most glorious high ‘c’ to top the last chord. It was so beautiful and really brought me into the moment.
What was your favorite detail?
Liz: There were so many–everyone who worked to make the day a success (hair & makeup, musicians, chefs, florist, fabulous photographer!…) did such a wonderful job. I love the fall details our florist used, and our delicious pumpkin wedding cake.
Karl: When we walked in the door at Studio Paris, Jackie, the fantastic planner, handed me one of the specialty cocktails we had invented and literally took all the baggage out of my hands. After the harried energy of the day, I knew I could relax!
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Liz/Karl: The funniest is also one of the best. At the last minute, there was confusion about our first dance & Karl chose ‘Bei Mir Bist du Schön.’ It ended up being better than we imagined!
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Liz/Karl: A few weeks before the wedding a friend of ours told us a mantra to remember: ‘Everything will happen just as it’s supposed to happen.’ We held to that through all the little bumps in the road that day. Also, establish your priorities for the celebration together–then don’t sweat the small stuff. For us, we stressed that day when we realized we didn’t have a fancy cake server or guestbook. We ran around to get them and realized afterward we could’ve saved ourselves the trouble; looking back we wouldn’t have missed them.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Liz/Karl: We would’ve scheduled the wedding party brunch the next morning for a later start time.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Liz/Karl: We won’t be able to go until the spring, but we’re thinking Paris!
