These two come to mind when I hear the “Happy” song, a sweet joyfulness that’s super contagious (no matter how many times you hear Pharrell Williams on the radio you can’t help but snap your fingers and tap your toes). Even though they still have that wonderful shyness around each other, the kind made of butterflies and blushing cheeks, they are also up for anything (“oh, you brought smoke bombs in your camera bag? Cool!”). They told me fun stories as we explored the West Loop and downtown… like when Pete was so nervous on their first date that he “overserved” himself and almost fell out of his chair! This engagement session was perfect, what I like to call “naturalistic photo observation” (observing creatures in their natural environment), with a little flair. Maybe a coordinated outfit and some well chosen locations, but overall a fun afternoon spent around town. Drinks at the Dawson were spot on (thanks Clint!), and Lori and Pete couldn’t have looked more perfect in their upstairs denim room. They remind me of how lucky I am to do what I do, thank you Lori and Pete for being such a beautiful couple!
First, a coffee at La Colombe to kick things off.
Just for fun!
A well deserved cocktail at The Dawson.
Congrats Lori and Pete, I can’t wait to celebrate your wedding with you in August!
