An afternoon wedding on a warm summer day at the Museum of Contemporary Art, what could be better? The morning started out with pouring rain, which gave way to some very steamy weather. But that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits! This day was extra special, the MCA had a daylong “Celebration of Marriage Equality”, hosting 15 wedding ceremonies for gay and lesbian couples organized in collaboration with LGBT civil rights organization Equality Illinois. Over 100 couples applied for this event, and Nick and Ricardo were one of the lucky 15 couples chosen. There was so much energy and excitement throughout the museum, with so many people coming and going, and so many amazing celebrations under one roof. What an awesome day!
There wasn’t a dry eye in the audience after witnessing Ricardo and Nick walk down the aisle with their beautiful twins, much less after Nick recited all of his vows in Spanish (what an awesome touch!). The echo through the hall of cheers and well wishes as the couple was announced married was truly terrific! Then came the party, the sun was out and the Caipirinhas were spot on. This group knew how to have fun and DANCE!
Everyone headed upstairs for the ceremony, and Ricardo was interviewed by Telemundo!
Marcelo and Mateo had everyone by the heartstrings!
Congrats Nick and Ricardo, wishing you and your beautiful family ALL the love and happiness!
