“The Force will be with you. Always.” – Obi-Wan Kenobi

On this day last year, in a galaxy far, far away… ok maybe it wasn’t another galaxy but we can all agree the world around us at this moment looks very different. These two beautiful, quirky, and all-around lovable humans are celebrating their first anniversary as they shelter-in-place, and I am pretty sure they’re loving it! Honeymoon plans are on hold, there will be no dinner in a fancy restaurant, but spending countless days in each other’s company (including snuggling with their cats) has been greatly enjoyed. And who needs a fancy restaurant when you can still get a Pequod’s pizza delivered??! Pair it with a beer and some Netflix and BINGO! Anniversary goodness achieved.

If you need a serious dose of happy then scroll through this colorful explosion of joy. An intimate wedding in one of Chicago’s secret treasures, the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond. Photos along the waterfront at the Fullerton Harbor, then a quick tour through favorite Bucktown stops and dinner with their friends and family at the BEST pizza joint in the city! But seriously, Pequods pan pepperoni pizza is the stuff dreams are made of. If you don’t know this already, treat yo’self. You will not be disappointed.

Go ahead and take a look. I dare you not to smile!

“You must feel the force around you. Here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes.” – Yoda

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

I loved sitting in the hotel lobby at 3am eating a Big Mac, exhausted, with my husband while we were still all glammed out.

What was your favorite detail?

I just loved Scott’s vows. They were so deep and touching. I’ll never forget them.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

The best man’s speech had VISUALS. I loved it and laughed so hard!

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Just focus on the fact that as long as you marry your right person… everything else can go wrong and it’ll be absolutely fine.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

I would tell myself to calm down and enjoy more moments! I felt like everything was flying by too fast.

How did you meet? (How long have you known each other?)

At work, I was the receptionist replacing his sister while she went on maternity leave, and we’ve known each other/been together 6 years

When did you know he/she was “the one”?

Almost immediately. We hung out the whole day and I was so infatuated I forgot to eat.

Describe the proposal.

Intimate. Neither of us we were wearing pants!
