Having a dentist in the family can guarantee having a great smile, but that had nothing to do with the way these two were smiling ALL weekend! To say they were grinning from ear to ear would be an understatement, the wedding was a blur of beautiful white teeth as these two celebrated with their loved ones. Spending two days with a couple this excited to get married was amazing, from the traditional ceremony in Yasamin’s parent’s home, to the stunning party at the Palmer House Hotel. Dancing, entertainment (belly dancer!), and an outpouring of love… two days of perfection for two perfect people!
The weekend began with a traditional Iranian ceremony, in which Yasamin’s grandmother blessed her with prayers as her maids soaked her feet in rose water and adorned her head in a canopy of sugar. So fun!
The funniest part of the ceremony is that the bride must stay silent as the priest continually asks her if she accepts the groom as her husband, she must wait at least three times before responding.
Time to celebrate!
Day #2:
I love Yasamin’s reaction to seeing herself in the wedding dress!
Nawfal’s uncles are total pranksters!
Elevator first look… so great!
The room looked amazing.
Their cake topper combined her optometry with his dentistry!
And then the belly dancer arrived!
Congrats Yasamin and Nawfal, may your smiles always show off all the love and happiness you give each other!

Q&A with the bride:
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Yasamin: All of it! It’s really hard to pinpoint a single moment. The father/daughter and mother/son dance turning into a beautiful family dance. Or the impromptu dancing in the middle of dinner. Or how it all came together so well. But I think the feeling of the wedding was the most memorable, we just felt so much love in the room. It was amazing.
What was your favorite detail?
Yasamin: Our cake topper. Nawfal had a vision of a tooth wearing glasses because I am an optometrist and he is a dentist. We looked allover the internet and didn’t find anything, then my maid of honor made us the most adorable tooth with glasses.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Yasamin: When Nawfal’s 4 year old nephew decided he also wanted to make a speech!! Too cute!
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Yasamin: Just sit back and enjoy! Hire a wedding planner…be on the same page and everything will run smoothly.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Yasamin: Nothing! We had the most amazing time and were surrounded by the most beautiful people inside and out. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Yasamin: Santorini,Greece. Perfect place to relax 🙂
A little history…
How did you meet? (How long have you known each other?)
We met at his sister’s house at a dinner party. I was in Canada visiting my aunt for the weekend and it was his weekend to visit his sister. It was a chance meeting, we’ve known about each other indirectly through family. But this was the first time we actually sat down and chatted. We instantly clicked!
Describe the proposal.
We were in Paris for a vacation with friends and family. But one rainy afternoon, he decided we had to go to Sacre Coeur…NOW! He seemed a little anxious so I had a feeling that something was up. I took my time stopping at shop to buy a hat and insisting that we walk through an old church. it was sorta cute how nervous he was. He then took me to his secret spot that overlooked the entire city of Paris, as he was getting down on one knee, I said stop, no (it was raining and I didn’t want his pants to get muddy…he only heard No!). He won’t let me live that one down! I obviously said yes, but the only thing he remembers from the proposal was that I said no!
